Kroger to give employees $2 per hour pay raise

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Kroger and the United Food and Commercial Workers (UFCW) International Union announced a pay increase Tuesday night along with other benefits for employees.

Eligible Kroger employees will get a $2 per hour pay raise, emergency paid leave for employees who get the virus or need to self-isolate and increased cleaning and sanitation, according to an announcement.

Marc Perrone, UFCW’s president, said in a statement that the pay and benefits increase “is a good first step in our ongoing conversations with Kroger to keep customers and workers safe in stores during this crisis.”
