Governor makes appointments to Kentucky boards and commissions

FRANKFORT, Ky. — Gov. Andy Beshear has made the following appointments to Kentucky boards and commissions:

Gov. Beshear has appointed Sara Turner-Garlington as a member of the Kentucky Film Commission.

  • Sara Turner-Garlington of Lexington is a host and executive producer for PBS. She replaces Richard Riddell, whose term has expired. Ms. Turner-Garlington shall serve for a term expiring Sept. 30, 2023.

Gov. Beshear has appointed Larry Waddell as a member of the Commission on Small Business Advocacy.

  • Larry Waddell of Elizabethtown is the owner of Waddell’s Auto & Scrap Metal Recycling. He replaces Sandra Wilson, whose term has expired. Mr. Waddell shall serve for a term expiring Aug. 22, 2023.

Gov. Beshear has appointed Carolyn Basford as a member of the Kentucky Board of Durable Medical Equipment.

  • Carolyn Basford of Villa Hills is a respiratory manager for RSVP Home Care. She replaces Teresa Aldridge, who has resigned. Ms. Basford shall serve the remainder of the unexpired term ending Oct. 7, 2024.

Gov. Beshear has appointed Jesse Withers as a member of the Kentucky Military Family Assistance Trust Board.

  • Jesse Withers of Winchester is an enlisted soldier for the Kentucky National Guard. He replaces David Munden, whose term has expired. Mr. Withers shall serve for a term expiring Oct. 5, 2024.

Gov. Beshear has appointed Cheryl Turner as a member of the Kentucky Board of Licensure for Massage Therapy.

  • Cheryl Turner of Louisville is a massage therapist at Massage Envy. Ms. Turner shall serve for a term expiring July 16, 2021.

Gov. Beshear has reappointed Dr. Ida Dickie as a member of the Juvenile Justice Advisory Board.

Gov. Beshear has appointed Hannah Coyt as a member of the Kentucky Board of Licensed Professional Counselors.

  • Hannah Coyt of Alvaton is a Licensed Mental Health counselor at Lindsey Wilson College. She replaces Mark Hamm, whose term has expired. Dr. Coyt shall serve for a term expiring Sept. 23, 2024.

Gov. Beshear has reappointed Douglas Keefe as a member of the Board of Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology.

Gov. Beshear has appointed Melissa Cahill, Madelyn Duzyk, and Stacey Roussell as members of the Kentucky Eating Disorder Council.

  • Melissa Cahill of Prospect will represent the Louisville Center for Eating Disorders. She shall serve a term expiring Oct. 25, 2022.
  • Madelyn Duzyk of Bellevue is an occupational therapist for Cincinnati Children’s Hospital. She shall serve for a term expiring Oct. 25, 2022.
  • Stacey Roussell of Louisville is a pediatrician at Norton Healthcare. She shall serve for a term expiring Oct. 25, 2022.

Gov. Beshear has appointed the following to the Employment First Council. Members will serve a term expiring June 30, 2022.

  • Carolyn Gardner of Frankfort.
  • Frank Huffman of Butler.
  • Morgan Turner of Lexington.
  • Tessa Wilkerson of Livermore.
  • Annette Jett of Lexington.
  • Diana Merzweiler of Mt. Washington.
  • Amanda Owen of Owensboro.
  • William Byrd of Waddy.
  • Kimberly Ray of Mt. Washington.
  • Kimberly Wilson of Nicholasville.
  • Martin Fawbush of Louisville
  • Shaun Collins of Louisville.
  • Sonya Bergman of Hindman.
  • Kimberly Wilcher of Union.

Gov. Beshear has appointed Steven Gold as a member of the Juvenile Justice Oversight Council.

  • Steven Gold of Henderson is an attorney. He shall serve for a term expiring Aug. 1, 2022.

Gov. Beshear has appointed Jamesetta Ferguson as a member of the Land Bank Authority.

  • Jamesetta Ferguson is the pastor, president, and CEO of St. Peter’s United Church of Christ. She replaces Lisa Butcher, whose term has expired. Dr. Ferguson shall serve a term expiring Oct. 28, 2024.
