Another shutdown at Louisville’s Ford plant?

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Louisville’s Ford Motor Co. plants may be halting production for an additional two weeks as the COVID-19 pandemic continues to disrupt the supply chain.

Ford announced on Tuesday that there is a tentative shutdown planned for the Louisville Assembly Plant for the weeks of Jan. 25 and Feb. 1. If the shutdown does take place, it will roughly affect 3,900 hourly workers. UAW workers would receive roughly 75% of their regular pay until the shutdown ends.

The facility was closed last week due to the shortage of global semiconductors.
