LEXINGTON, Ky. — Kentucky American Water has announced the appointment of Shelley Porter as director of engineering. In this position, Porter will manage and coordinate capital investment projects and lead engineering activities for the company. Porter will report to Nick Rowe, president of Kentucky American Water.
Porter joined West Virginia American Water in 2013 and led the engineering planning and GIS functions, acted as a strategic adviser to the business development team and led the implementation of many large water and wastewater projects.
Porter holds a Master’s in Engineering degree with dual emphases in environmental engineering and engineering management from Marshall University and a Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering from West Virginia University Institute of Technology.
Porter was born and raised in Huntington, W.Va., and will reside in Lexington, Ky. with her husband, Brandon.
