Downtown Lexington Partnership board of directors appoints interim executive director

Laura Farnsworth

LEXINGTON, Ky. — Downtown Lexington Partnership (DLP) board of directors has announced that Laura Farnsworth has been named interim executive director, effective immediately, following the departure of President and CEO Terry Sweeney in July.

DLP Board Chair Jennifer Taylor said, “The board of directors is delighted that Laura has agreed to be our interim executive director. Her background makes her an ideal choice to lead our organization during this time of transition. Laura has been with DLP since 2008, and has experience with event production, development and membership recruitment, and administrative management of the organization.”

“I am honored and thankful to the DLP board of directors for the opportunity to continue working to make downtown a fun, safe and economically powerful place,” Farnsworth said.

DLP’s board of directors will be reviewing the organization’s strategic plan over the coming weeks and will communicate the vision and process for hiring a permanent executive director this fall.
