FORT MITCHELL, KY (April 26, 2013) ‒ Prologis has chosen the Paul Hemmer Co. to build a 770,000-s.f. industrial distribution facility in Prologis Park 70-Etna Industrial Park in the Greater Columbus area. When completed by Hemmer, the facility will be one of the larger structures in the Tri-state, putting under roof the equivalent of nearly 18 acres.
Paul Hemmer Co. has had a longtime relationship with Prologis, the leading global owner, operator and developer of industrial real estate. Over the past two decades, Hemmer has constructed distribution centers as large as 1 million square feet for Prologis in Monroe and West Chester, Ohio; in Louisville, Ky., and seven centers in Hemmer’s Airpark developments near the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport.

Construction has begun on the new Prologis facility, and Hemmer is applying a fast-track construction schedule using pre-cast concrete wall panel construction. This method allows fast-track construction of large buildings by utilizing pre-cast wall panels which are fabricated off site and delivered to the site.
Construction is expected to be completed by the end of the year. Prologis will own the facility and lease it to SpeedFC, a leading provider of end-to-end e-commerce services. The site is located in Prologis Park 70-Etna Industrial Park outside Columbus in Etna Township.
The Hemmer team members leading the project are Senior Vice Presidents John Curtin and Mike Hemmer and Project Manager Kevin Markesbery. M+A Architects of Columbus is coordinating all project design/architecture, with Jobes Henderson & Assoc. as civil engineer and Jezerinac-Geers & Assoc. as structural engineers.
