14 bridge projects in nine counties
FRANKFORT, Ky. (Nov. 8, 2013) – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet has awarded contracts totaling more than $2.25 million for deck repairs and waterproofing on 14 bridges in nine counties.
“Bridges are an indispensable part of our highway system and represent a considerable investment,” said Kentucky Transportation Secretary Mike Hancock. “A good preventive maintenance program is the key to extending the life of any bridge.”
Bridge repairs included:
Ohio County – Bridge on KY 1245 over the Western Kentucky Parkway (mile point 3.4). T&C Contracting Inc. was awarded the contract for $149,869. Completion date: June 30, 2014.
Henderson County – Bridge on KY 285 over Canoe Creek (mile point 2.1). Intech Contracting Inc. was awarded the contract for $170,577. Completion date: June 30, 2014.
McLean County – Bridge on KY 85 over Green River (mile point 12.3). T&C Contracting Inc. was awarded the contract for $199,764. Completion date: June 30, 2014.
Union County – Bridge on KY 359 over Highland Creek (mile point 6.9). Intech Contracting Inc. was awarded the contract for $223,910. Completion date: July 31, 2014.
Daviess County – Three bridges: U.S. 431 over Panther Creek (mile point 9); KY 554 over Rhodes Creek (mile point 8.9), and KY 3143 over William H. Natcher Parkway (mile point 71.7). T&C Contracting Inc. was awarded the contract for $434,403. Completion date: Nov. 15, 2014.
Powell County – Three bridges: Manning Spur over the Mountain Parkway (mile point 29.3); KY1184 over Mountain Parkway (mile point 25.2), and Mountain Parkway (mile point 31.2) over KY 77. Mid-America Bridge Co. Inc. was awarded the contract for $375,316. Completion date: Nov. 15, 2014.
Carter, Lewis and Nicholas counties – Four bridges in a three-county grouping. Intech Contracting Co. was awarded the contract for all four bridges for $696,209. Completion date: Nov. 15, 2014. The bridges include:
– Carter County – Bridge on KY 1 over Everman Creek (mile point 12.6).
– Lewis County – Two bridges: KY 8 over Cabin Creek (mile point 12.7) and KY 10 over Cabin Creek (mile point 5.6).
– Nicholas County – Bridge on KY 57 over Somerset Creek (mile point 3).
