Frontier Airlines announces additional expanded service from CVG

CINCINNATI (Dec. 17, 2013) — Frontier Airlines today announced the expansion of its nonstop service from the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG) to Denver International Airport (DEN).

FLBB_Frontier_Aircraft_PhotoThe expanded service will begin in May of 2014 with the addition of two new weekly flights growing to a total of 11 weekly flights by August 2014. Frontier first began service from CVG in May of 2013 becoming the first low cost carrier to serve CVG since 1998. In October of this year, Frontier announced it was adding a second destination from CVG with three flights a week to Trenton Mercer Airport in Ewing, New Jersey beginning Feb. 12.

“The addition of a second flight four days a week to Denver combined with the previously announced new service to New Jersey speaks to the strong response Frontier has received by the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky community,” said Candace S. McGraw, chief executive officer, CVG. “Frontier flights have operated with a load factor on average that is above 90 percent since they started service last May. We are excited about the new opportunity this expanded schedule gives to the travelers in our region.”

When fully implemented, the new expanded schedule will offer two flights a day on Sunday, Monday, Wednesday and Thursday and one flight a day on Tuesday, Friday and Saturday. Both departure times will offer customers convenient flight connections from Denver to 19 destinations. Flights will operate on a spacious 168-seat Airbus 320 or 138-seat Airbus aircraft, which offer more customer amenities. Flights on Frontier Airlines from CVG can be booked at FlyFrontier.com.

“This is a great day for consumers as we increase frequency of Frontier service between CVG and Denver, providing even more choices for residents in the Cincinnati area to fly to both the east and west coasts,” said Daniel Shurz, Frontier’s senior vice president, commercial. “Customers will find the guaranteed best value when they book at FlyFrontier.com, where we offer more choice, more perks, and more savings.”

“We thank Frontier for expanding service at CVG,” said Jim Huff, CVG board chairman. “This is an important step in adding flights for the passengers in our region.”

Frontier flight times will offer departures from CVG in both morning and afternoon time slots. The schedule will expand from the current six weekly flights to eight in May, 10 weekly flights in June and July then 11 weekly flights starting in August.
