Schools, public invited to submit pumpkins
LEXINGTON Ky. (Oct. 16, 2015) — The public has the opportunity to not only view one of the biggest free jack-o-lantern displays in Kentucky, but to also participate in creating the artwork.
Transylvania University is hosting PumpkinMania from Oct. 27-31 on the steps of the historic Old Morrison.
Pumpkins can be submitted by anyone in the general public.
Schools are invited to participate, with the school that submits the most carved pumpkins being recognized during the ceremony, while a drawing will award two classes a pizza party and $50 in educational supplies.
Pumpkins should be dropped off at Old Morrison between 1-7 p.m. on Oct. 26 or from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Oct. 27. Delivery assistance is available.
Pumpkins will be lit at 7 p.m. on Oct. 27.
