KCTCS wins multiple awards at NCMPR conference

Online Marketing Manager Jennifer Vlahos named rising star

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Oct. 31, 2014) — The Kentucky Community and Technical College System (KCTCS) received 38 awards for outstanding achievement in marketing communications, including top honors in several categories, at the National Conference for Marketing and Public Relations (NCMPR) District 2 conference.

KCTCSAdditionally, KCTCS Online Marketing Manager Jennifer Vlahos was presented the Rising Star Award. NCMPR’s Rising Star Award recognizes an up-and-coming communications professional who has demonstrated special creativity or ability in college marketing, public relations and communications, and shows evidence of a promising future in this field of work. Vlahos has overseen the development of strategic digital marketing plans for KCTCS and currently leads the digital marketing efforts of KCTCS’ innovative online learning program – KCTCS Online: Learn on Demand.

The Medallion Awards ceremony was part of the NCMPR District 2 conference held Oct. 26-29 in Nashville, Tenn.

NCMPR District 2 is comprised of community colleges in 11 Southeastern states, along with the Bahamas and Bermuda. The NCMPR District 2 Medallion Awards is an annual award celebration honoring the marketing and communication efforts of community college marketing and public relations professionals.

This year the district received 516 award entries, in more than 42 categories.

KCTCS accepted awards in the following categories: banners and outdoor media; brochure/flier, single; brochure/flier, series; college annual report; college promotional video; college video program; feature article/general news story; fundraising/annual campaign; logo design; microsites; nifty and thrifty; notes/cards/invitations; online newsletter; original photography; postcard; poster; print advertisement, series; promotional campaign for a special event; PSA, single; website; and wildcard.
