Kentucky had nation’s second biggest drop in number of uninsured residents from 2013 to 2014

FRANKFORT, Ky. (Feb. 25, 2015) — The number of uninsured Kentucky residents decreased from 20.8 percent in 2013 to 9.8 percent in 2014, according to the Gallup poll. The 10.6 percent change was second biggest in the U.S. behind Arkansas, which decreased its number of uninsured from 22.5 percent to 11.4 percent, a drop of 11.1 percent.

In 2013, Kentucky ranked 40th in the percentage of people who lacked health insurance, but in 2014 ranked 11th.
