Four Roses honored among ‘Best Whiskies in the World’

Four Roses Small Batch was named “Best American Whiskey: Bourbon Seven Years and Under.” The awards will be featured in Whisky magazine’s July issue.

LAWRENCEBURG, Ky. (April 26, 2012) – Four Roses Distillery again was named among the top spirits at the annual World Whiskies Awards, but this time it was Four Roses Small Batch taking the honors.

Four Roses Small Batch, a marriage of four of the 10 unique recipes produced by the distillery, was named “Best American Whiskey: Bourbon Seven Years and Under.” The awards will be featured in Whisky magazine’s July issue, which is distributed globally.

Four Roses Small Batch brought home the award following a three-round blind tasting competition of more than 300 whiskies from around the world. The competition was chaired by Whisky Magazine Editor Rob Allanson, and included judges drawn from the best drinks journalists and retailers across the world.

Four Roses is the only bourbon distillery that combines five proprietary yeast strains with two separate mashbills to produce 10 distinct bourbon recipes.
