Lexington, Ky. – Microsoft founder Bill Gates has posted a blog about his experiences in Betsy Lane High School in Floyd County, Kentucky, in November of last year.
In the post, “How the Tough got Going in Kentucky,” Gates writes about teacher Ricky Thacker, the son of a coal miner, and an educational shift at the school.
“What’s happening at Betsy Layne and other Kentucky schools show what’s possible when students are held to high standards and good teachers have the opportunity to become great,” Gates writes.
