Gov. Bevin makes appointments to Kentucky boards and commissions

FRANKFORT, Ky. (Nov. 18, 2016) — Gov. Matt Bevin has appointments to Kentucky boards and commissions.

Appointments:

  • David Bryan Sloan has been appointed to the Mine Safety Review Commission. Sloan, of Ft. Mitchell, is an attorney. Sloan shall serve for a term expiring May 23, 2020.
  • Caroline David Harralson Ruschell has been appointed to the Kentucky Multidisciplinary Commission on Child Sexual Abuse. Ruschell, of Lexington, is director of the Kentucky Association of Children’s Advocacy Centers. Ruschell shall serve at the pleasure of the governor.
  • Jacqueline Michelle Sugarman has been appointed to the Kentucky Multidisciplinary Commission on Child Sexual Abuse. Sugarman, of Lexington, is a physician. Sugarman will represent physicians and shall serve at the pleasure of the governor.
  • Paul M. Sheets has been appointed to the Kentucky Heritage Land Conservation Fund Board. Sheets, of River, is a retired chiropractor. Sheets will represent the League of Kentucky Sportsmen and shall serve for a term expiring July 15, 2019.
  • Mark Smith has been appointed to the Kentucky River Authority. Smith, of Carrollton, is a business owner. Smith will represent residents residing in a county adjacent to the main stem of the Kentucky River. He shall serve for a term expiring Sept. 18, 2020.
  • Barry Sanders has been appointed to the Kentucky River Authority. Sanders, of Crestwood, is an engineer. Sanders will represent registered engineers. He shall serve for a term expiring Sept. 18, 2020.
  • Tamara Kay Cox has been appointed to the Kentucky Commission on Community Volunteerism and Service. Cox, of Mt. Vernon, is a social worker. Cox shall serve for a term expiring Jan. 3, 2019.
  • William Kevin Mays has been appointed to the Kentucky Commission on Community Volunteerism and Service. Mays, of Bowling Green, is an accountant. Mays shall serve for a term expiring Jan. 3, 2019.
  • Lanny Taulbee has been appointed to the Kentucky Commission on Community Volunteerism and Service. Taulbee, of Lexington, is a physical disabilities resource doordinator at the Cabinet for Health and Family Services. Taulbee shall serve for a term expiring Jan. 3, 2019.
  • Megan L. Morris has been appointed to the Kentucky Commission on Community Volunteerism and Service. Morris, of Henderson, is the executive director of the Volunteer and Information Center. Morris shall serve for a term expiring Jan. 3, 2019.
  • Peter Hayes has been appointed to the Kentucky Commission on Community Volunteerism and Service. Hayes, of Louisville, is a nonprofit manager. Hayes shall serve for a term expiring Jan. 3, 2019.
  • Stella W. Beard has been appointed to the Kentucky Commission on Services and Supports for Individuals with an Intellectual Disability or Other Developmental Disabilities. Beard, of Dunnville, is self-employed. Beard will represent statewide advocacy groups. She shall serve for a term expiring July 15, 2020.
  • Michael Shannon Smith has been appointed to the Kentucky Commission on Services and Supports for Individuals with an Intellectual Disability or Other Developmental Disabilities. Smith, of Brooksville, is a library employee. Smith will represent individuals with intellectual disabilities or other developmental disabilities. Smith shall serve for a term expiring July 15, 2020.
  • Rita D. Wooton has been appointed to the Kentucky Commission on Services and Supports for Individuals with an Intellectual Disability or Other Developmental Disabilities. Wooton, of Hyden, is a teacher’s aide. Wooton will represent family members of a child with intellectual disabilities or other developmental disabilities residing in the home or community-based setting. She shall serve for a term expiring July 15, 2020.
  • Karen F. Herdina has been appointed to the Kentucky Commission on Services and Supports for Individuals with an Intellectual Disability or Other Developmental Disabilities. Herdina, of Ft. Thomas, is a business consultant. Herdina will represent business leaders. She shall serve for a term expiring July 15, 2020.
  • Berlinda A. Bazzell has been appointed to the Kentucky Commission on Services and Supports for Individuals with an Intellectual Disability or Other Developmental Disabilities. Bazzell, of Scottsville, is a retired educator. Bazzell will represent family members of an adult with an intellectual or developmental disability residing in a facility-based residential setting. She shall serve for a term expiring July 15, 2020.
  • Virginia Lee Payne has been appointed to the Kentucky Commission on Services and Supports for Individuals with an Intellectual Disability or Other Developmental Disabilities. Payne, of Smiths Grove, is a homemaker. Payne will represent family members of an adult with an intellectual and developmental disability. She shall serve for a term expiring July 15, 2020.
  • Christopher Derek George has been appointed to the Kentucky Commission on Services and Supports for Individuals with an Intellectual Disability or Other Developmental Disabilities. George, of Somerset, is a behavior analyst. George will represent direct service providers of the Kentucky Association of Private Providers. He shall serve for a term expiring July 15, 2020.
