Interim president named at Big Sandy Community and Technical College

Longtime president at Texas college

PRESTONSBURG, Ky. (Dec. 22, 2016) — Dr. Alan Scheibmeir has been named interim president/CEO at Big Sandy Community and Technical College, effective Jan. 2, 2017, Kentucky Community and Technical College System (KCTCS) President Jay Box recently announced.

Scheibmeir served as president of Grayson College in Denison, Texas, from 1996-2012. Prior to that, he was vice president for instructional services at the college. He served in other leadership positions at Colby Community College in Colby, Kan.

Scheibmeir earned a bachelor of arts degree and a master of science degree from Fort Hays State University in Kansas. He completed a doctor of philosophy degree in education administration from the Community College Leadership Program at the University of Texas at Austin. He also attended the Institute for Educational Management Program conducted by the Harvard Graduate School of Education.
