Gov. Bevin makes appointments to Kentucky boards and commissions

FRANKFORT, Ky. (Jan. 16, 2018) – Gov. Matt Bevin has made the following appointments to Kentucky Boards and Commissions:

Monica Hill, David Rhodes, Peter Feil and Avi Bear have been appointed to the Maysville Community & Technical College Board of Directors.

• Monica Hill, of Flemingsburg, is an attorney with Campbell, Rogers & Hill, PLLC. She will serve for a term expiring Sept. 22, 2023.
• David Rhodes, of Mount Sterling, is vice president of business development for The Walker Company of Kentucky. He will serve for a term expiring Sept. 22, 2023.
• Peter Feil, of Ft. Thomas, is vice president and general manager of Stober Drives, Inc. He will serve for a term expiring Sept. 22, 2023.
• Avi Bear, of Cynthiana, is a pastry chef and owner of Oven Art, Inc. He will serve for a term expiring Sept. 22, 2023.

The Maysville Community and Technical College, located in Mason County, is one of 16 two-year, open-admissions institutions of the Kentucky Community and Technical College System (KCTCS).

William K. Mounts, Cecelia W. Robinson and M. Joan Hayden have been appointed to the Owensboro Community & Technical College Board of Directors.

• William K. Mounts, of Owensboro, is vice president of OMICO Plastics. He will serve for a term expiring July 15, 2022.
• Cecelia W. Robinson, of Owensboro, is community relations director for Ohio County Hospital. She will serve for a term expiring July 15, 2022.
• M. Joan Hayden, of Philpot, is co-owner of Hayden Electric and Hayden Farms. She will serve for a term expiring July 15, 2023.

The Owensboro Community and Technical College, located in Daviess County, is one of 16 two-year, open-admissions institutions of the Kentucky Community and Technical College System (KCTCS).

Joseph A. McClung has been appointed to the Kentucky Transportation Center Advisory Board.

• Joseph A. McClung, of Leitchfield, is owner of Bluegrass Telephone Company and McClung Rentals. He will serve for a term expiring August 10, 2018.

The Kentucky Transportation Center Advisory Board, established by the General Assembly, assists in policy formation and to provides direction to the Center. 

Patrick Lucas has been appointed to the Commission on Fire Protection, Personnel, Standards and Education.

• Patrick Lucas, of High Plains, is a Louisville Fire Department firefighter and Jefferson County volunteer firefighter. He will represent volunteer firefighters and serve for a term expiring July 16, 2020.

The Commission on Fire Protection, Personnel, Standards and Education trains and certifies volunteer and career firefighters in Kentucky.

Joseph Koester, J. Miller Hoffman, Lisa S. Clark and Rebecca Hedgspeth have been appointed to the Board of Directors of the Kentucky Employers’ Mutual Insurance (KEMI) Authority.

• Joseph Koester, of Villa Hills, is owner of Herzog Jewelers. He will serve for a term expiring Dec. 31, 2021.
• J. Miller Hoffman, of Mt. Sterling, is managing member of Limestone Agency, LLC. He will serve for a term expiring Dec. 31, 2021.
• Lisa S. Clark, of Louisville, is owner and controller of the F.D. Pierce Company. She will serve for a term expiring Dec. 31, 2021.
• Rebecca Hedgspeth, of Louisville, is an insurance agent with Epic Insurance Solutions, LLC. She will serve for a term expiring Dec. 31, 2021.

The Kentucky Employers’ Mutual Insurance (KEMI) Authority, created by the General Assembly, is a self-supporting provider of workers’ compensation insurance for businesses in the Commonwealth.

Francis R. Hamilton III and Theodore R. Kuster have been appointed as members of the Judicial Nominating Commission for the 14th Judicial Circuit and District of Kentucky.

• Francis R. Hamilton III, of Georgetown, is an engineer with Nally and Gibson Georgetown, LLC. He will serve for a term expiring Jan. 1, 2022.
• Theodore R. Kuster, of Paris, is retired. He will serve for a term expiring Jan. 1, 2022.

The Judicial Nominating Commission consists of the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court (serving as chair), two members from the Kentucky Bar Association, and four gubernatorial appointees who are not members of the Kentucky Bar Association (equally representing the two major political parties). Members cannot hold any other public office or any office in a political party or organization. The 14th Judicial Circuit and District of Kentucky encompasses Bourbon, Scott and Woodford counties.
