Gov. Bevin makes appointments to Kentucky Boards and Commissions

FRANKFORT, Ky. (Jan. 25, 2018) – Gov. Matt Bevin has made the following appointments to Kentucky Boards and Commissions:

Ron L. Walker, Jr. has been appointed to the Bluegrass Community & Technical College Board of Directors.

  • Ron L. Walker, Jr., of Richmond, is an assistant U.S. attorney with the U.S. Department of Justice. He will serve for a term expiring Oct. 15, 2023.

Bluegrass Community & Technical College (BCTC), located in Lexington, is one of 16 two-year, open-admissions institutions of the Kentucky Community and Technical College System (KCTCS). The BCTC Board of Directors is responsible for adopting and implementing an annual budget, approving budget requests and evaluating the functions of the school and the school’s staff.

James Robert Wright and E. Paulette Akers have been appointed to the Agriculture Water Quality Authority.

  • James Robert Wright, of Lexington, is director of the Kentucky Energy and Environment Cabinet’s Division of Forestry. He will represent the Kentucky Energy and Environment Cabinet’s Division of Forestry and serve for a term expiring Oct. 1, 2021.
  • E. Paulette Akers, of Versailles, is director of the Kentucky Energy and Environment Cabinet’s Division of Conservation. She will represent the Kentucky Energy and Environment Cabinet’s Division of Conversation and serve for a term expiring Oct. 1, 2021.

The Agriculture Water Quality Authority is a multidiscipline peer group that evaluates, develops and improves best-management practices in conservation plans, compliance plans and forest stewardship management plans. The Authority also establishes statewide and regional agriculture water quality plans and otherwise promotes soil and water conservation activities that protect water from the adverse impacts of agriculture operations within the Commonwealth.

Jan M. Buddeke has been appointed to the Kentucky Lottery Corporation Board of Directors.

  • Jan M. Buddeke, of Prospect, is a retired banker. She will serve for a term expiring Nov. 28, 2021.

The Kentucky Lottery Corporation Board of Directors controls and regulates all aspects of the lottery, including games, prizes and method of sales in the Commonwealth.
