Gov. Bevin makes appointments to Kentucky boards and commissions

FRANKFORT, Ky. (March 12, 2018) – Gov. Matt Bevin has made the following appointments to Kentucky Boards and Commissions:

Paul A. Tenkotte, Timothy C. Peters, Linda Ann Carroll and Judi Patton have been appointed as members of the Kentucky Heritage Council. 

• Dr. Paul A. Tenkotte, of Covington, is a professor of history and director of Northern Kentucky University’s Center for Public History. He will serve for a term expiring Aug. 6, 2021; and 
• Timothy C. Peters, of Harrodsburg, has completed dozens of historic renovations and restorations and is founder of T.C. Peters Construction. He will serve for a term expiring Aug. 6, 2021; and  
• Linda Ann Carroll, of Lexington, is vice president of Morgan Worldwide Consultants. She will serve for a term expiring Aug. 6, 2021; and
• Judi Patton, of Pikeville, is a former first lady of Kentucky and the wife of former governor Paul Patton. She will serve for a term expiring Aug. 6, 2021. 

The Kentucky Heritage Council consists of no more than 16 members dedicated to the preservation and protection of Kentucky’s heritage. The Council reviews and recommends projects, encourages, coordinates, and promotes historic preservation programs, and maintains an inventory of historic buildings throughout the Commonwealth.

Benjamin Taylor Miles, Donald William Elmore, and Edward G. Miller have been appointed as members of the Perryville Battlefield Commission. 

• Benjamin Taylor Miles, of Danville, is a historical consultant and author. He will represent the public at-large and serve for a term expiring April 1, 2021; and
• Donald William Elmore, of Somerset, is a retired high school social studies teacher, founder of the Mill Springs Battlefield Association and a historical consultant. He will represent the public at-large and will serve for a term expiring April 1, 2021; and
• Edward G. Miller, of Danville, is a U.S. Army-designated military historian. He will represent the public at-large and will serve for a term expiring April 1, 2021. 

The Perryville Battlefield Commission administers the implementation of the Perryville Battlefield Resource Management Plan. The Commission also guides the on-going development of the battlefield resource including monumentation, special events, battlefield park expansion, and overall battlefield interpretation.
