Kentucky small businesses invited to join trade mission to Canada

Deadline is April 7

FRANKFORT, Ky. (March 31, 2015) — The deadline for small businesses to register for Gov. Steve Beshear’s Kentucky Export Initiative (KEI) trade mission to Canada has been extended to April 7. The mission is from May 25-30.

The trade mission will focus on increasing commerce and building relationships between Kentucky’s small businesses and the Canadian market. The KEI delegation will make stops in Ottawa, Montreal and Toronto.

Canada is home to one of the world’s largest economies and is Kentucky’s largest trade partner. The commonwealth exported more than $7.6 billion in products and services to Canada last year. Beshear previously led a delegation to our northern neighbors in June 2013.

Grant funding through the State Trade Export Promotion (STEP) program is available to help qualified small businesses offset the cost of the trip.
