MURRAY, Ky. (July 1, 2016) — Murray State University has named Tina Bernot executive director of development. Bernot will lead MSU’s Office of Development, which facilitates all aspects of corporate, foundation and individual major and annual giving on behalf of the university.

Bernot has more than 20 years experience in planning, leading and executing development efforts. She has served MSU for eight years in various development roles, most recently as the interim executive director of development. She holds a bachelor’s degree in business management from Edgewood College in Wisconsin and a master’s degree in organizational communication from Murray State University.

MSU’s development staff focus on the solicitation of major and planned gifts as well as annual participation gifts through face-to-face visits, online giving and crowdfunding campaigns, direct mail, and RacerThon – employing current students who raise funds for university programs over the phone. The combined effort of these development strategies has resulted in nearly 14,000 gifts during the current fiscal year.

Charitable gifts made for the benefit of Murray State University are coordinated through the Office of Development and managed by the MSU Foundation, Inc.
