FRANKFORT, Ky. — In a partnership with the Kentucky Education and Workforce Development Cabinet (EWDC), officials from C-Tech Associates Inc. on Tuesday announced the creation of a new telecommunications apprenticeship program.
C-Tech Associates Inc., a leader in Career and Technical Education, will now be sponsoring state-approved apprenticeships in Kentucky. Over the last 26 years, C-Tech has established a network of more than 650 Certified Training Facilities (CTF) across the country that administer training programs, with many sites located across the Commonwealth. C-Tech training programs are developed based on the needs of telecommunication employers and provide students with the theoretical knowledge and hands-on experience that will prepare them to become workforce ready.
“Congratulations to C-Tech Programs on the creation of a new telecommunications Registered Apprenticeship program,” EWDC Secretary Derrick Ramsey said. “This program allows apprentices to earn on the job while receiving state-of-the-art training in careers with excellent stability and growth potential.”
C-Tech has established the apprenticeship to further support CTFs in Kentucky and industry partners who are in dire need of entry-level workers. At its core, C-Tech is preparing the next generation of technicians that work behind the scenes to power the “Internet of Things”. These technicians install, test and troubleshoot networking and smart devices for both residential and commercial settings.
Graduates of the C-Tech Apprenticeship Program will receive Internationally Recognized Certifications in a wide array of disciplines including, Telecommunications, Network Cabling, Telephone Systems, Audio/Video installations, & Green Energy Systems. Additionally, graduates will also receive Continuing Education Credits to help further their careers through Building Industry Consulting Service International (BICSI) and Custom Electronics Design and Installation Association (CEDIA). Over 100,000 students have earned C-Tech Certifications in this constantly expanding career field.

C-Tech’s vast training and career experience with teenagers and young adults in a range of settings across the country is a welcomed addition to the Kentucky Registered Apprenticeship Program. The Education and Workforce Development Cabinet acts as the governing body for Registered Apprenticeships in Kentucky, and provides technical and consultative services to employers. The “Kentucky Trained. Kentucky Built.” campaign was launched in 2016 to signal the Education and Workforce Development Cabinet’s commitment to strengthening and growing Registered Apprenticeships across the Commonwealth.
