Gov. Bevin appoints Vietnam War veteran as County Judge/Executive of Nicholas County

FRANKFORT, Ky. — Governor Matt Bevin has appointed Roscoe Higginbotham, of Carlisle, as County Judge/Executive of Nicholas County.

Higginbotham is a Marine and veteran of the Vietnam War. A graduate of the University of Urbana, Higginbotham served as a certified government financial manager and is a retired federal auditor for the United States Air Force, where he demonstrated excellence in financial and logistics management.

“I appreciate Gov. Matt Bevin for trusting me to govern Nicholas County and for believing in my abilities to lead the county today and in the future,” said Higginbotham. “Thanks also to the citizens of Nicholas County for the support and confidence they have placed in me.”

Higginbotham will serve until this position is filled in accordance with the results of the November 2019 general election, pursuant to the provisions of Section 152 of the Kentucky Constitution.
