LBAR names Realtor of the Year and Good Neighbor Award recipients

LEXINGTON, Ky. — The Lexington-Bluegrass Association of Realtors (LBAR) presented its two highest awards – Realtor of the Year and Good Neighbor – honoring outstanding Realtors within the Association.

Mike Gooch

Mike Gooch, who passed away on August 27, 2018, was named LBAR’s Realtor of the Year for 2018. He was the broker/owner of Gooch Auction Group, an accomplished auctioneer and member of LBAR for over 25 years. Gooch was an instructor for the Kentucky Real Estate Commission and taught many courses for LBAR, Kentucky Realtors and other organizations throughout his career. He was a motivational speaker and was a certified John Maxwell trainer and coach. With LBAR, he served on many committees including professional standards, education, public relations and was a member of the board of directors. Gooch was a member of AARE (Accredited Auctioneer of Real Estate), one of only 275 in the entire country, and a candidate for the Certified Auctioneers Institute (CAI).

Jennifer Sisson

The Good Neighbor Award was presented to Jennifer Sisson, an agent with Milestone Realty Consultants and member of LBAR since 2012. She puts in countless hours of volunteer time with several charities in the community, however, her focus has been with the Salvation Army. With the organization, Sisson contributes by shopping for kids during back to school time, evaluating families for the Angel Tree program while also collecting toys, clothes and other gifts for children and staffing locations for the Red Kettle ring days. Also, during the holidays, Sisson, along with her family, give their time at the Salvation Army distribution center to make sure all the donations are bagged, wrapped and ready for delivery. Because of her dedication, the organization was able to serve 3,800 central Kentucky children with gifts during the holidays. In addition, Sisson was also named as one of the newest members to the Salvation Army advisory board.
