The filing deadline to run for statewide office closed Tuesday at 4 p.m. Below is a list of candidates in each race for the primary and general elections this year.
Governor/Lt. Governor
Republican
- Matt Bevin and state Sen. Ralph Alvarado (incumbent with new running mate)
- State Rep. Robert Goforth and Mike Hogan
- William Woods and Justin Miller
- Isaac “Ike” Lawrence and James Anthony
Democrat
- Attorney General Andy Beshear and Jacqueline Coleman
- Former state Auditor Adam Edelen and Gil Holland
- House Minority Leader Rocky Adkins and Stephanie Horne
- Geoff Young and Josh French
Attorney General
Republican
- State Sen. Wil Schroder of Wilder
- Louisville attorney Daniel Cameron
Democrat
- Former Attorney General and House Speaker Greg Stumbo (only served as AG for four years in 2004, meaning he could serve another four-year term)
Secretary of State
Republican
- Michael G. Adams, a GOP election lawyer from Louisville
- Andrew English, a Lt. Commander in the U.S. Navy Reserves and General Counsel for the Justice and Public Safety Cabinet for the Commonwealth of Kentucky
- Stephen Knipper, has been working for Lt. Gov. Jenean Hampton after running for the secretary of state in 2015 and defeated by incumbent Alison Lundergan Grimes in the general election
- Carl Nett, a former U.S. Secret Service officer from Louisville
Democrat
- Heather French Henry, former Miss America who has been serving as commissioner of the Kentucky Department of Veterans Affairs
- Jason S. Belcher of Harold
- Jason Griffith, a teacher and business owner from Eastern Kentucky
- Geoff Sebesta of Lexington
State Auditor
Republican
- Auditor Mike Harmon (incumbent)
Democrat
- Drew Curtis, founder of Fark.com who ran for governor as an Independent in 2015
- Kelsey Hayes Coots, a teacher and graduate of the Emerge Kentucky program
- Sherri Donahue, served in Security and Intelligence for the U.S. Navy
- Chris Tobe, a former member of the Kentucky Retirement System Board and currently is an investment consultant
Agriculture Commissioner
Republican
- Agriculture Commissioner Ryan Quarles (incumbent)
- Bill Polyniak, Lexington resident and co-founder of Kentucky Cannabis Company which grows hemp
Democrat
- Robert Haley Conway, a farmer and businessman who currently serves as Soil and Water Conservation Supervisor for Scott County after being elected to the position in 2018 and is the former chairman of the Scott County Board of Education
- Joe Trigg, a Glasgow City Council member who served in the Air Force and ran unsuccessfully for state Representative in the 23rd District in 2016

Republican
- Treasurer Allison Ball (incumbent)
Democrat
- Michael Bowen of Louisville
- Josh Mers, owner of a small insurance business in Lexington who ran for state House in 2018 in the 88th District but was defeated in the Democratic primary
