FRANKFORT, Ky. — Frankfort attorney Dana Cox Nickles has been named executive director of the Kentucky Public Health Association/Kentucky Health Departments Association (KPHA/KHDA).

A lifelong Kentuckian, Nickles has extensive experience in both the public and private sectors working to improve public access to health care services, most recently as clinic coordinator of the Mission Frankfort Clinic, a non-profit organization providing free medical, dental and pharmacy services to patients with limited access to health care.

She previously served as senior policy advisor to the Secretary of the Kentucky Cabinet for Health and Family Services where she worked closely with the Department for Public Health.

“I am very excited that KHDA is fortunate enough to have Dana in this position. She brings a wealth of knowledge to our association. I am looking forward to seeing our association grow under her leadership and become a trusted presence in Frankfort and across the Commonwealth,” said Allison Adams, KHDA Board Chair.

A graduate of Murray State University and the Salmon P. Chase College of Law, Northern Kentucky University (Juris Doctorate), Nickles has been an attorney for 25 years and served as a city attorney, general counsel for the Kentucky Executive Branch Ethics Commission, deputy general counsel for the Administrative Office of the Courts and assistant deputy attorney general, Civil Division.
