LEXINGTON, Ky. — A judge will allow the lawsuit seeking refunds for University of Kentucky students who were mandated to leave campus during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The ruling came from a Franklin County judge that claims for the refund of close to $20 million in mandatory student fees can move forward. Although, the judge did dismiss a portion of the lawsuit seeking a partial tuition refund.
University of Kentucky tried to get the case dismissed entirely. The fees in question are supposed to support campus facilities but were closed throughout the semester.
