Transport management services company to invest more than $2.2 million
FRANKFORT, Ky. (Aug. 15, 2013) –Transport Logistics International Inc. (Daher-TLI) plans to establish a new operation in Ballard County, creating up to 20 new jobs and investing more than $2.2 million in the project.
“Daher-TLI is a perfect fit for Kentucky and Ballard County, especially with all the logistical advantages that area offers, including the river and a strategic location within the country,” said Gov. Steve Beshear.
Daher-TLI is the leading North American transportation management company specializing in radioactive material. The company manages cylinder transports, both domestically and internationally, and provides engineering services and professional support for packaging and transportation of radioactive material and related products for both commercial and research purposes, as well as for spent fuel transportation for U.S. and foreign research reactors.
Daren Condrey and Mark Lambert, co-presidents and managing partners of Daher-TLI, said that the company was excited about the new project in Ballard County and was looking forward to expanding operations and working closely with the community. Daher-TLI plans to begin hiring for the new facility in mid-October.
The Kentucky Economic Development Finance Authority preliminarily approved the company for tax incentives up to $350,000 through the Kentucky Business Investment program. The performance-based incentive allows a company to keep a portion of its investment over the term of the agreement through corporate income tax credits and wage assessments by meeting job and investment targets.
