Music Scenes accepting applications for visual arts exhibit

Will be featured during Kentucky Crafted: The Market

FRANKFORT, Ky. (Jan. 19, 2015) — The application deadline for artists to be featured in Music Scenes, a new visual arts exhibit to be featured during Kentucky Crafted: The Market, is Feb. 9.

Kentucky Crafted: The Market is the state’s premiere marketplace for artwork and craft produced by Kentucky artists.

MusicScenesBannerMusic Scenes will run in conjunction with The Market, March 7-8 at the Lexington Convention Center, and will be available for viewing by all visitors to The Market.

The exhibit seeks to answer the question of how music can be translated visually and examines the relationship between visual art and music.

Eligible works may include, but are not limited to, show posters and graphics, art used on album covers and other visual representations of music.

Music Scenes is open to all Kentucky visual artists, who may submit up to two entries for consideration. Work must be original, two-dimensional, framed and ready to hang, and must have been completed since January 2010. Dimensions must not exceed 36 inches wide and 48 inches tall, and the work must not exceed 25 pounds.

Images must be submitted by Feb. 11.
