Kentucky Office of Homeland Security is accepting grant applications through July 10

FRANKFORT, Ky. (May 13, 2015) – The Kentucky Office of Homeland Security (KOHS) is accepting applications for the FY 2015 State Homeland Security Grant Program through July 10.

The grants, funded by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, can be used by city and county governments, area development districts and public universities to purchase first-responder equipment, communications, cybersecurity and critical infrastructure protection.

KOHS will post a webcast at homelandsecurity.ky.gov from May 12 through July 10 to assist agencies preparing applications for grants. The 25-minute presentation, “FY 2015 Homeland Security Grant Application Workshop,” provides step-by-step information including submission requirements, eligible projects, application checklist, and the review and award process.

Since several changes have been made to the application process, viewing of the webcast is mandatory for the applicant agency.

A certification form will be posted with the webcast, which must be signed by the lead applicant agency and returned to KOHS by fax or email. The deadline for applying for grants is July 10.

For more information about the workshops, contact the KOHS Grants & Finance Division at 502.564.2081.
