Jefferson County Republican Party elects new chair

Louisville, Ky. – The Jefferson County Republican Party (JCRP) has elected James Stansbury as the organization’s new chairman. Stansbury will lead the party’s efforts ahead of November elections.

Stansbury is the former executive director of the JCRP and is a retired teacher in Jefferson County. His chairmanship follows the departure of former chair Nathan Haney, who stepped down earlier this year due to work opportunities.

“This is an exciting time to be a Republican, and an exciting time for the JCRP,” Stansbury said. “Jefferson County has more Republican voters than any other county in the entire Commonwealth, and we look forward to inspiring, engaging and educating as many of them as possible.”

At last night’s JCRP Executive Committee meeting, Stansbury shared his vision for the party leading up to November’s election and beyond. The party will continue its successful efforts to engage Republicans across Jefferson County, from the East End to the West End and Downtown to the South End. The JCRP will also embark on a renewed focus on fundraising and candidate recruitment.

Stansbury lives in Louisville with his wife, Cheryl, his two daughters, and three grandsons.
