LEXINGTON (June 1, 2017) — The League of Women Voters of Lexington elected officers and directors for the 2017-18 year at its annual meeting April 8.
Tammy Fagley was re-elected as president and Cindy Heine was elected first vice president.
Directors re-elected to the board include Richard Heine, Judy Johnson, Carol O’Reilly and Barbara Sterrett and Lauren Wallace; Lynne Flynn, former Secretary, and Shayla Johnson were newly elected as Directors. They join current board members Steve Senft, Treasurer and Donna Blue, Second Vice President.
Angela Evans, 6th District Council Member of the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Council spoke on the New Kentucky Project and how to activate citizens to participate in democracy and our government.
The League is an activist nonpartisan organization of women and men that encourages citizen involvement in government through voter registration, lectures, candidate forums and programs, all of which are free.
