HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. (April 17, 2018) — Northern Kentucky University has launched a suite of accelerated online bachelor’s degrees that enable students to earn or complete their liberal arts degree in the way that best fits their lifestyle. The online undergraduate courses are taught by the same NKU faculty that teach on campus. Programs are flexible, affordable, fit the busy schedules of working students and offer multiple start dates throughout the year.

A recent study from the American Academy of Arts & Sciences reported that almost 87 percent of all workers with a bachelor’s degree in the humanities reported they were satisfied with their jobs in 2015, comparable to graduates from almost every other field. Additionally, the same report showed low unemployment rates for these degree holders. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, workers with a bachelor’s degree earn a 67 percent higher salary on average than workers with only a high school diploma.

The online undergraduate degrees offer a solution for students who wish to earn a liberal arts degree while remaining employed. The broad portfolio of undergrad programs now offered in an accelerated online format reflects NKU’s commitment to providing students with flexible course options for career advancement.

“We are pleased to offer a suite of high-quality liberal arts programs now available online to prepare students for a broad range of career opportunities,” said Diana McGill, dean of the College of Arts and Sciences. “These degrees offer a wonderful launch pad for many types of jobs because of the human interaction and critical thinking skills that are developed within them and the well-rounded education a liberal arts degree brings.”
