LOUISVILLE, Ky. (July 13, 2015) — Patrick Armstrong has been named president of the Kentucky Derby Museum. Armstrong replaces Lynn Ashton, who retired after 20 years of service.

Armstrong has been serving as senior vice president of Marketing and Development for the Kentucky Derby Festival. He has worked for the Kentucky Derby Festival for a collective total of 20 years, serving for the last ten years as SVP, Marketing & Development.  He has also worked as marketing director for WLKY and as marketing services manager for Clear Channel Radio.

He is a graduate of Eastern Kentucky University with a B. S. degree in Marketing and Management.  He is a 2015 graduate of Leadership Louisville, 2013 graduate of Focus Louisville and a 2002 recipient of Business First’s “Forty Under 40”.  He currently serves on the Board of Directors for American Advertising Federation — Louisville and is the vice chairman of the Board of Directors for Assumption High School.
