AAA to host TSA precheck event in Lexington

Obtaining travel credentials in advance reduces contact risks at the airport

LEXINGTON, Ky. — As travelers make plans for future trips, AAA is offering help for those who will be flying to their destination and want to minimize contact at the airport. Those with travel plans over the next five years can sign up now for the screening program that will offer an expedited process at the airport, minimizing contact and helping to reduce health risks.

To make it easier for travelers to sign up now for the screening program that offers an expedited process at the airport, AAA is holding a TSA Pre✓ event Nov. 16-19 at its Hamburg location in Lexington at 3008 Atkinson Avenue.

The TSA precheck designation will help minimize the number of contacts at the airport as travelers continue to determine their comfort with air travel.

“TSA precheck is valid for five years,” said Lori Weaver Hawkins, public and government affairs manager, AAA Blue Grass. “While many consumers are still determining the best time to resume travel, obtaining this benefit now will help them prepare for that time when they will return to the skies.”

With TSA precheck, travelers have no need to remove shoes, 3-1-1 liquids, laptops, light outerwear or belts. TSA precheck has more than 450 lanes at more than 200 U.S. airports.

The AAA event in Lexington at Hamburg with IdentoGo TSA Pre✓ agents will allow future travelers to enroll for screening approval with ease. AAA members and the general public must pre-schedule appointments and pre-register to participate.
