YMCA announces opening of second learning lab location

LEXINGTON, Ky. — The YMCA of Central Kentucky will be opening its second learning lab at the Carnegie Center for Literacy and Learning located at 251 W. 2nd Street in Lexington on Jan. 11. The YMCA learning labs are free for students in grades K-12 who need additional support with their non-traditional instruction (NTI).

The YMCA will provide staffing, programmatic guidance, curriculum, and enrichment activities while the Carnegie Center provides physical space, furniture, computers, Wi-Fi, and translation services (as needed).

The hours for the learning lab will be Monday through Thursday from 4:30 to 7 p.m. The Y will be hosting an orientation at the Carnegie Center on January 7 from 4:30 to 7 p.m. for interested families to sign up onsite.

The YMCA’s first learning lab opened in mid-November in partnership with the Lexington Public Library at the Village Branch location and currently still has openings.
