Construction, utility equipment expo at Kentucky Exposition Center generates $9.88 million of economic impact

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (Sept. 26, 2013) – One of the largest tradeshows in the country returns to Louisville this October bringing more than 16,000 attendees and 800 exhibitors to the Kentucky Exposition Center. Conducted Oct. 1-3, the International Construction and Utility Equipment Exposition is expected to generate $9.88 million of economic impact for Louisville.

Kentucky ExpoAn industry-only event, the expo attracts professionals who work in electric, phone, cable, water, general construction, landscaping and public works. Equipment and exhibitors will fill the North Wing, East Hall, South Wing and West Hall and overflow into outdoor areas around the facility.

Conducted every two years, the International Construction and Utility Expo is the largest event in North America for utilities and utility contractors seeking new equipment and technology for construction and rehabilitation projects. The event features workshops, exhibits and product demonstration areas. In addition to the popular outdoor equipment demonstration, a new indoor exhibitor demo stage will be added this year. The demonstration areas allow attendees to test drive new equipment and talk to experts before making a purchase.

The exposition originated in 1964 as a way to help solve equipment evaluation and communications problems and has been held in Louisville since 1987. Pre-registration for 2013 is expected to surpass the past two shows in attendance and exhibitors. For more information, visit www.icuee.com.
