Funds went to help Kentucky get healthy
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (Jan. 13, 2015) — Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield directed more than $2,165,000 and hundreds of volunteer hours to health-improving causes, organizations and programs in Kentucky in 2014.
Through its State Health Index—a compilation of public health measures—and Healthy Generations grant program, Anthem and its foundation worked to identify the health issues impacting local communities.
Major areas of focus for Anthem in 2014 included promoting active lifestyles and working to reduce the devastating impact of chronic illnesses, such as diabetes, heart disease and lung disease for Kentucky children, adults and seniors.
