For new neuro-ICU unit, infant services
LEXINGTON, Ky. (Feb. 13, 2015) — The Saint Joseph Hospital Foundation STARS committee granted $50,000 for a new neuro-ICU unit and $5,000 for Baby Health Services at Saint Joseph Hospital.
The number of neurology patients at Saint Joseph grew more than 19 percent in 2014. A new eight-bed neuro-ICU is under construction on the fifth floor of Saint Joseph Hospital.
Baby Health Services is a pediatric health clinic providing free medical and dental care to children whose families are ineligible for a medical card or who cannot afford private health insurance. In 2014, Baby Health Services had 2,250 visits where children received free care, medications and/or immunizations
