Tom+Chee closes Lexington, Louisville locations

Locations have closed in other states

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Jan. 18, 2017) — Tom+Chee, a popular soup and sandwich restaurant, has been closing stores throughout the country, including locations in Lexington and Louisville, various news sources have reported.

imgresWTVQ in Lexington reports: “Tom+Chee Lexington will close on Thursday, Jan. 12, according to a post on its Facebook page. That same post said there were no plans to open in another location in Lexington. The grilled cheese specialty restaurant chain opened in Hamburg Pavilion in 2013.” The post was no longer available for viewing.

Concerning the Louisville location Tom+Chee posted on Facebook on Jan. 11: “Due to the impact of the needed repairs to the restaurant following the building maintenance issue we do not have an ETA on the reopening of this location. Thank you for your patronage and patience.”

On Tuesday morning a new post read: “Unfortunately due to the impact of the recent events in our facility we have made the decision to not reopen the Bardstown Rd. Tom+Chee. We appreciate your patronage over the last several years and hope to have a Tom+Chee again in the Louisville area in the future.”

Restaurants have reportedly also closed recently in Michigan, Missouri, North Carolina, Ohio and Wisconsin.
